Monogatari Series S2 10

Best Kaminomi, your opinion is shit.

Here's your damn ending to the Snail arc(I forget the damn name of this book). Enjoy. I'm awaiting more Karen.

Also, so who else now has plans to go to Tokyo in 2020 for the Olympics? I've decided I'm going just for shits and giggles. Also, to be that one Murrkin who actually bothered to learn any moon before going to the country and thus making all the nips like me. Plus, its one of the two Olympics guaranteed to have golf in it. I will so be heckling Ian Poulter if he makes the British team.

Edit: Holy shit, so I thought cutting off the Madoka PV at the end wouldn't change anything. Turns out Homura is fucking with time again and so every line showed up 2 frames early. Sorry for that, entirely my fault.

    2. Pure unadulterated evil. That extra time will surely break him.

    4. Yeah sorry, but actually I'm not a NEET. We held a surprise birthday party for my best friend, which I obviously had to attend.

  2. It's these kind of issues when trying to cut that PV at the end that makes me actually want to try and do it myself lol.

  3. Well my attempt worked on it. I had no sign's showing up two frames early. What I did (I use a combo of Xvid4PSP, MKVMerge/MKVExtract and Aegisub): Load original MKV into MKVMerge and make a copy without subtitles or chapters. Trim the show to 0,34764 frames, encode for a final encode (including audio track) into an MP4 container. Extract the subs from the original MKV, load into Aegisub, load the final encoded video into Aegisub. Let it grab the key frames and length. Save the subtitles (No changes needed). Load MKVMerge, load the original MKV, final MP4, and re-saved subtitles into it. Disable the original Video, Audio, and Subtitle tracks then enable the new ones you put in. Remux, and BAM! Should be fixed.

At least that worked for me. Wasn't really too hard IMO.

    1. FFmpeg kind of messed with the timecodes, that probably caused the timing issues. I will investigate further and ask the devs why it shows this behavior. Maybe it's a bug.

  4. Small request Node, do you think that you could increase font size of subs just a bit, while watching on my laptop screen they are still quite small but the main problem is watching on my TV which 99 percent of the time I do. the subs just linger down at the very bottom the screen making it a game to quickly snap down to the subtitle read it then back to the animation. Now obviously they shouldn't be as big as HS or Commie (ew) but i do think they need a slight increase in size, and I hope you take my request into consideration.

  5. generally most players have utilities for re-sizing and positioning subs, not sure what you use on your tv, but maybe look for some such option. perhaps if other commenters express an interest, we might hold a vote of some sort. as always feedback is heard and appreciated.

  6. I did poke around in VLC settings and the subtitle options dont make any difference. Although i havent tried any other player or looked around on the internet for any extensions or addons to resize the subs, but thank you for the reply, looking forward for the next release!

    1. Sorry, thought I had changed it back to Jiangshi. When I did my go through I initially changed it back to the Japanese reading(Kyonshi) but after a little mental debate meant to put it back to Jiangshi. Basically they're different readings of the same Kanji, Kyonshi being the Japanese reading, Jiangshi being the Chinese. Jiangshi are essentially a Chinese folk version of a vampire/zombie hybrid of sorts(hence why I wanted to go back to the Chinese reading). Look it up on Wikipedia if you want more.

Kabuki has a couple different meanings that the Arararararagi and Shinobu used as a play on words using the title of the novel this arc was about(kabukimonogatari). Using the first kanji from the title 傾 in a verb form(傾く) you get a word that means "to slant/tilt/lean." Normally, that verb would be conjugated and read "katamuki," but using an outdated reading of the kanji, it can be read as "kabuki." Albel could probably explain this better, as my runes are not as good as his.
